The Scottish Targe is the ancient Highlander’s battle shield used for protection against sword and weapon blows. Here I have created, using traditional skills, a high quality carved Celtic Scottish battle Targe.  Made from Vegitanned deerskin and cow hide, Targes are available in a wide range of colours.  Each Targe features a unique Celtic design or your clan crest, and surrounded with studwork.  Each includes a secure wall mounting.

All our Targes are hand carved, then hand dyed and finished, using only the best materials. Our Celtic Targes are made in 19" and 14” inches in diameter. The finished leatherwork is then mounted on 3/4" block board, backed with Leather and fitted with Hand straps along with a secure wall mounting. 

Traditional Scottish battle Targes can also be reproduced for use in re-enactment battles.  Contact us with your requirements.
